Education

Mundri Vocational Training Centre

This project, designed by North American Centenary Committee and (NACC) and Mundri Relief and Development Association (MRDA), will establish the Mundri Vocational Training Center (MVTC), to provide vocational training, e.g., carpentry and masonry. Greater Mundri has never had a vocational training center, so there is lack of technical skills, in many areas, such as carpentry and joinery, building construction and concrete practice, plumping, welding, tailoring, ICT and many more others. NACC and MRDA will jointly oversee the institution, workings closely with all concerned South Sudanese National, State and County Authorities and International Partners for the effective discharging and fulfilling of MVTC’s goals. MVTC is envisaged to be a pioneer modern vocational institution that will impart knowledge, technical skills, and positive attitudes to the youth of Greater Mundri.

Economic Empowerment

Yeri Women’s Economic Empowerment Project

The microcredit projects in the Yeri and Wandi Diocese of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan are designed to support self-employed women to produce and market handicrafts, pottery, agricultural products, clothing, etc.

Mvolo Fisheries Enterprises Project

This project is designed to train and support 2,000 fishermen and fisherwomen in the formation of fisheries cooperatives and provide training in fish production, preservation, and marketing. Interest in fishing is increasing rapidly and it is expected that the fishing community is likely to expand. The project also plans to develop a fish storage cold chain plant that would provide a better method of preserving fish compared to the traditional practice of preserving fish by smoking and drying in the sun. The facility is also expected to create employment opportunities for people in the region. Fish would then be transported to various markets in South Sudan, including Juba, Yambio, Maridi, Ibba, Mundri West and East counties, Wulu and Rumbek counties.
